SAIC is currently seeking a MQ-25 Stingray Unmanned Carrier Aviation (UCA)/CANES Integration Mid-Level Engineer to support a long-term contract with the Navy in San Diego California.


The individual will be assigned as the Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES) Other Customer Funds (OCF) MQ-25 Stingray Unmanned Carrier Aviation (UCA)/CANES Integration Project Engineer in support of PEO C4I, PMW 160 Other Customer Funds (OCF) projects.

The individual will be responsible to provide technical and programmatic analysis in support of Naval Systems Open Architecture and technology initiatives; tracking all project tasks, action items, deadlines and deliverables in support of CANES Application Integration Process on PMA 268’s behalf. The individual will also oversee management of the CANES Land Base Test System (LBTS) currently installed in Pax River, MD. The individual will prepare briefings, review and author white papers, develop and track financial obligations associated with UCA/CANES integration efforts throughout the AI process. The individual will represent PMW 160 interests and liaison between PEO C4I and numerous other internal and external stakeholders concerning PEO C4I policies, network design, configuration and certification, installation and integration challenges, procurements and ILS.

This position requires a TS/SCI clearance and a full understanding of shipboard CANES hardware architecture, network, and storage systems on CVN platforms. A familiarity with the design of connected systems, hosted systems and virtualization would be a plus. A basic understanding of carrier aviation would be a benefit.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Technical/Engineering Management

- Perform technical, cost and schedule planning, and oversee comprehensive UCA/CANES system and System-of-Systems (SOS) integration for UCA based on PMA 268 acquisition/delivery schedule. Plan, monitor, measure, and evaluate technical CANES baseline management in support of UCA/CANES integration testing.

- Establish relationships with the technical teams at NAVAIR, NAVSEA, shipbuilding facilities, various Program Executive Offices, and SSC Pacific to facilitate the integration of the MQ-25 Stingray shipboard mission control station.

- Assist with facilitation of all testing within the SSC Pacific and NAVAIR testing labs. Evaluate test plans and participate in system testing planning and execution meetings.

- Perform pre-delivery analysis and develop cost, schedule, and scope for subsequent engineering efforts throughout the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) processes as appropriate to facilitate comprehensive OCF platform considerations in all milestones and decision gates.

- Support PMA 268 to enter and complete the Application Integration (AI) Process

- Develop and mature AI System Integration Test (SIT) Documentation (Service Request Form (SRF), Operational Survey, etc.)

- Coordinate and support meetings between AI SE IPT and PMA 268 stakeholders

- Lead AI SIT event planning to include creating a Task Management Plan using SSC Pacific Process Action Library template

- Peer review test plans/procedures to be appropriately scoped to meet requirements

- Identify costs required for resolving interface problems associated with the UCA/CANES integration for each CANES HW/SW CVN baseline and any variances that exist in the operational fleet environment

- Execution Management

- Develop and manage Statement of Work (SOW) deliverables defining the MQ-25 Stingray/CANES integration project

- Develop and maintain the project Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)

- Coordinate and manage Program Objective Memorandum (POM) for project as defined by GOVT leadership

- Plan, coordinate, and execute project briefs for internal and external customer as defined by GOVT leadership

Basic Qualifications:

- **TS SCI active clearance required**

- 3-5 years of Navy tactical network engineering, specifically hypervisor, switching, and routing

- 3-5 years of data links and various satcom and wireless technologies used in the unmanned aircraft space

- 3-5 years of Navy Systems Command, Acquisition/Integration Program Office experience

- 3-5 years of software installation/SOVT knowledge (SW install/SOVT experience a plus)

- BA or BS degree in an engineering, communications, or IT field

- MCSE/CCNA Certification desired

- Working knowledge of carrier aviation and flight deck operations on board a CVN or LHD

- Understanding of the System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process

- Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) process

- Experience with US Navy network installation on new construction afloat platforms is a plus

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and MS Project is desired

- ~10-15% travel required
