Job Description

As the Administrator of Wireless Communications you will manage wireless communications technology deployments throughout the Health System. You will also include planning and overseeing installation, maintenance and day-to-day operational support of applications and devices. Responsibilities Include:

  • Vocera Communications experience is highly preferred
  • Manages wireless communications technology deployment throughout the Health System. Creates and manages processes to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.
  • Manages the application databases. Creates processes for maintaining data integrity and works with clinical departments to keep users, groups and address book entries up to date.
  • Manages devices including maintaining accurate inventory records, managing Return Material Authorization (RMA) and spares pool.
  • Establishes and develops training processes, in conjunction with device vendor(s), for new and super users.
  • Provides on-site support for reporting and resolving end-user issues including equipment, database and training. Reports technical issues to appropriate vendor/support organization and collaborates with technical support and OCIO to resolve issues.
  • Reviews utilization reports with customer stakeholders (users). Identifies opportunities for performance improvement and implements same.
  • Develops and administers end-user satisfaction programs through satisfaction surveys.
  • Performs Enterprise Telecommunications duties, including operational and project management tasks, as assigned.
  • Assists in making recommendations on new equipment/devices. May review service contracts, as assigned.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Business Administration or related field, required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience with large, database-driven, wireless communication technology deployments (i.e. Vocera or other mobility platform), required. Experience in a Healthcare environment, preferred.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years progressively responsible general Information Technology experience including 6 years directly related wireless experience (i.e. Vocera or other mobility platform), required. Experience in a healthcare environment, preferred. AND Experience with process design and work-flow analysis and end user support and training, required.
  • Strong project management, organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills, required.
