What you’ll be doing...

We manage a portfolio of buyers who average $45M in spend per buyer annually. This person will target, recruit, vet, and implement vendors of this capacity. Responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Research various opportunities (i.e. MVNO’s, Insurance Carriers, Network Operators) and identify/prioritize where we can gain the largest business impact. Top buyers spend more than $100M annually
  • Scope out the overall financial impact of direct sales vs the impact to VZ by leveraging devices at a potential lower yield that will enable VZ to generate reoccurring service revenue
  • Forecast demand and manage supply influx in order to ensure that shortages do not occur
  • The resale market operates like a futures stock market where news, supply, or changes can have dramatic impacts to the price. This position will need to understand the nuances of this market and be able to articulate if a new supplier would have a negative impact to the global sales price. Industry knowledge built over time is critical
  • Develop detailed business case once a specific opportunity is identified or prioritize with the ability to articulate in writing why one vendor was selected over another
  • Identify all aspects of the business and 3PL support to be impacted. This vendor manager would need to be able to assess whether a vendor has the IT capability and the ethical standards to partner with Verizon. If additional technology needs to be implemented in order to facilitate sales to this vendor, this position will need to assess those needs prior to making a recommendation
  • Calculate all costs associated with recommended solution.
  • There is a forecasted $1.25B in reverse monetization. There is an 18% lift required over 2016 numbers with less forecasted devices. Present sales forecast and revenue budgets for each new vendor
  • Define time and teams working on ongoing opportunities

Drive achievement of strategic and revenue objectives:

  • Lead the identification of additional buyer relationships to diversify our portfolio of sales outlets
  • Analysis of possible business models and ideas
  • Monitoring of the market situation
  • Competition monitoring
  • Identification of strategic targets and market niches

-Utilize analytics and analysis to understand key issues, identify and implement best in class solutions

-Develop business cases to manage the risks involved, calculate budgets, cost, time and teams working on ongoing opportunities

-Build and maintain an understanding of products and price information

-Understand secondary device market and how buyers operate within that space

-Strategic and operational development of existing activities

Development and expansion of the global “Carrier”, MVNO and Insurance Sales Channel

  • Market research and identifying potential clients domestically and globally
  • Development of new business fields and sales channels
  • Creating and developing sales and marketing strategies

-Ability to identify any potential partners company current position, and what competitive advantage the company will bring to the company

-Identify opportunities globally within the targeted markets to expand our sales and distribution of devices and accessories

-Must also be able to cold call prospects with confidence in order to be a successful business developer

-Foster growth and drive sales through relationship building with vendors

-Become an expert in the key targeted markets businesses and position Verizon as a trusted advisor and supplier

-Utilize Social Selling as a tool to tap into this market

Support communication objectives of the Monetization team and WSC organization

-Develop PowerPoint updates for the monetization team

-Support WSC organization with PowerPoint presentations for meetings and calls, as needed

-Research and develop other tools to help with the overall department communication needs

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree of four or more years of work experience
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience

Even better if you have:

  • Three or more years of wireless industry experience with strong competency in practices and sales and support channels
  • Experience/knowledge of Supply Chain Management, specifically with Reverse Logistics
  • Strong understanding of and experience with KPI management and the secondary device market
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem solving, and data analytical skills
  • Competent with both strategic and tactical decision making
  • Highly developed critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to independently organize and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects, and successfully driving them to completion within the required timeframe
  • Aggressive self-starter; Proven success working in a highly dynamic, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to cultivate strong collaborative working relationships and contacts within work group, across the company, and with external organizations
  • Demonstrated competency in communication and presentation skills; able to develop clear messages across multiple communication platforms and tools
  • Knowledge of social media as a prospecting tool
  • Previous sales experience that required outbound prospecting and funnel management a plus
  • Business and opportunity development experience.
  • Technical Skills : Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and web tools and applications
